Whale and dolphin

Liv and Louise have added to their training by attending a Marine Mammal Medic course. This was held in Mahia and hosted by Project Jonah New Zealand. www.projectjonah.org.nz

They worked with life size dolphin and whale mannequins and learned how to use the equipment to refloat them. The waves coming in certainly gave it that 'real feel'!

There was a component on how to provide the necessary first aid and how to make them as comfortable as possible in their stranded state and understanding whale and dolphin behaviours.

An absolutely fabulous day with some great knowledge gained. Thanks to Project Jonah for running these courses.
