The learning never stops.....

Liv and Louise recently attended the Advanced Avian Medical course run in Auckland. They upskilled in a range of areas including taking blood samples, injection sites and the latest in drug/dose rate recommendations. This training also included the art of taking good samples from deceased birds to send for testing if needed.

Bandaging techniques were updated and practised and tips and tricks were shared around the rehabilitators. Power point presentations aligned with all of the practical work so the course was very busy, informative, valuable and hugely worth it!

After all that brain work, a trip to the Auckland Zoo and Kelly Tarleton's was had where they got to admire the wildlife for a change instead of rescuing and rehabilitating! Way to go girls, keep up the great work.
