Just a few bruises.....

This beautiful Hawk was found injured in the side of the road by a member of the public who then took it off to Waipukurau Vet Services. They informed us that he had not broken any bones (thankfully) but was very bruised and a little underweight.

He was transported over to us where he received fluids and pain relief for a couple of days. He then spent time in the outdoor flight area to allow him to gain his strength and put on a bit more weight.

He certainly let us know that he was ready for release so we informed the finder of this bird who we met back out where he was found. Also with the help of our volunteer, Josh, we all took great delight in setting this beautiful Hawk free, hopefully to stay away from the traffic in future!
