We were made aware of this stunning boy last Tuesday by a member of the public (Jason) who let us know that this hawk looked injured on the side of the road. the wildlife officers went out and eventually spotted him in the grass. It was during the high winds that we were experiencing and it looked as though he had been battered about a wee bit. There was concern over his wings but on closer inspection, the wings seemed okay. He weighed in at a healthy weight and was given time to rest and recuperate.
He has been on a course of antibiotics and is looking much better, perching and gaining his strength back. We can't wait to see him back up and flying again.
What a magnificent bird.
