Another Tui success
In late February, we had an adult Tui arrive that had been hit by a car. Thankfully he was picked up and delivered to the centre. His beak was slightly damaged and had some other wounds to the head. It was touch and go as he didn't want to stand up or fly.
After some much needed pain relief, fluids and rest, he started moving his legs and ate heartily. His improvement over a few short days was impressive. That's one tough bird!
After a week he was moved into the flight area where he was given time to regain his strength and stamina. Straight after his release he was seen catching flies up in the canopy of the tree.
